IP Net technology offering #IP0001335
Title
L(-) malic acid production technolog
What the technology is
The technology is suitable to synthetize L(-) malic acid from fumarate.
What it does
It is a very efficient technology that is suitable to synthetize L(-) malic acid from fumarate by genetically altered micro organism, using electro dialysis, downstream.
Possible applications
Potential areas of use • Food industry • Chemical industry • Pharmaceutical industry
Perceived UNIQUE ADVANTAGES
Firstly, downstream operations become cheaper by the high conversion rate and lack of bypass products. Secondly, the very intensive technology decreases the investment expenditures. Thirdly, it is an environment friendly.
Further Information such as stage of development
The Hungarian R&D team has already proved the upstream biotechnology process of this technique on laboratory and pilot level (25 liters reactor). The downstream EDU step and crystallization has proved pilot level (5-8 kg malate/day).
